In fact, Govinda and David together brought some cheer to the show as they cracked random jokes in their inimitable manner. Govinda and Sushmita Sen, stars of Do Knot Disturb, made an appearance with director David Dhawan. Like last year's IIFA at Bangkok, film publicity, too, found space on the ramp. The stars of Madhur Bhandarkar's next film, Jail, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Mugdha Godse, hit the runway for Siyaram's. Of course, many in the audience were left wondering why the actress giggled so much on the ramp. Raima Sen and Neha Dhupia walked the runway for several jewellery brands while Sonam Kapoor catwalked for designer Anamika Khanna. The actress, who had landed in Macau the same day, didn't reveal any signs of jet lag as she displayed the designer's creation effortlessly. Bipasha Basu sparkled as she took to the runway as show-stopper for designer Rocky S. Dino Morea, too, made a mark in a white dress by Gangwani.
Leading Macau designer Chris Chang used interesting themes, light colours and children to showcase the creations. The IIFA fashion show was kicked off by Dia Mirza, who ramp-walked for designer Manav Gangwani. Big B merrily clicked pictures at the event even as bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave the affair a skip, because she had to practise for her performance at the final awards ceremony late on Saturday. Amitabh Bachchan donned a different hat for the evening - that of a photographer. But it wasn't all fashion and promotion at the do. The crooner sang three numbers, including his all-time hit, Mysterious Girl, besides two new songs - Unconditional and Call Me a Doctor - from his latest album, which acted as a wake-up call for the bored audience. But then came popular Australian pop singer, Peter Andre, who was the actual show-stopper. And even as Shiamak Davar's dance troupe tried to add zing to the event that was rapidly losing steam, it wasn't enough. Hosts Zayed Khan and Sophie Chaudhary were desperately trying to pep things up with scripted gags but there weren't many around to listen. So much so, by the time Hrithik - looking suave with a designer beard - and the ravishing Suzzanne took to the ramp, most of the guests had already left. The star-studded fashion show ended up being a long drawn affair with product endorsements and film promotions taking up too much time during the event. Sadly, Bollywood glitter isn't always enough to sustain interest. The display, of course, did much to cock a snook at recent rumours of a rift between them after Hrithik's Kites co-star, Barbara Mori, entered his life.
